
Our efforts matter, and good news around the country serves as both proof and encouragement.
● Democrat Taylor Rehmet flipped a usually Republican Texas Senate seat blue in the January 2026 election, reflecting growing distrust of the current administration.
● The Enumclaw School Levy passed in early 2026.
● A PBS News/NPR/Marist poll found Democrats leading by double digits (14 points) on a generic Congressional ballot for the 2026 midterm elections.
● Spotify stopped airing ICE recruitment ads in late 2025 in response to a boycott.
● In February 2026, former Vice President Kamala Harris launched the social media account Headquarters. The site aims to mobilize pro-justice, pro-fairness, pro-democracy people against “far-right extremism.” Harris describes Headquarters as, “it’s where you can go online to get basically the latest on what’s going on, and also meet and revisit some of our great courageous leaders, be they elected leaders, community leaders, civic leaders, faith leaders, young leaders.” Visit Headquarters on Facebook.
● The Supreme Court ruled that the new California Prop 50 Congressional Map will stand, rejecting Republicans’ bid to stop it. This could flip as many as 5 seats previously held by Republicans.
● In January 2026, Avelo Airlines announced it would end its participation in the “ICE Air” network, which transports detainees.
● In 2025, Washington State implemented some of the nation’s strictest firearm regulations. Examples include:
○ HB 1163 - Requires a permit, a fingerprint-based background check, and safety training before owning a firearm.
○ HB 1240 - Prohibits the new sale, manufacture, and import of assault weapons, including AR-15 and AK rifles.
● Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Washington established itself as a “sanctuary state” for reproductive healthcare. Recent successes include Governor Bob Ferguson's July, 2025, pledge of $22 million dollars to help clinics stay open after Federal attempts to defund Planned Parenthood.
